Stock Room Assistant (Oceanside, CA)

Description:

Willard Marine is looking for an independent self motivated individual to serve as a liason with suppliers.  This position is based in Willard Marine Oceanside, CA facility.  To apply for this role, please send current resume to careers@willardmarine.com

The role of Stock Room Assistand, will be responsible for logistics, planning and coordination of all material/parts in our manufacturing and repair facility.  The administrative duties will require having an analytical review of vendor performance, evaluating alternative sources of procurement to align with targeted cost efficiences.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Careful monitoring of shipping dates and on-going communication with suppliers and vendors to include price updates and supply chain issues.
  • Proactively negotiate payment terms, discount pricing and bulk orders
  • Monitor Inventory and Purchasing report while maintaining adequate stocking levels for anticipated and current production needs
  • Consistently review parts and supply inventory levels in bins, production areas, and shelves
  • Create requisitions that align with upcoming work and production demands
  • Report on stock handling equipment, inventory variations, material loss,   and receiving returns
  • Distribute parts and material to production areas with updates to inventory reports
  • Cut stock to size required for production specifications
  • Oversee continuous quality control over vendors, personel, service levels, and inspection results.

Engineering Manager (Oceanside, CA)

Willard Marine recently acquired the exclusive licenses to build military, commercial, law enforcement and rescue vessels originally designed by SeaArk Marine and Crystaliner.

Willard Marine is searching for an Engineering Manager to serve as a leader within the Engineering team and grow their knowledge base, overall skill sets and contributions to the business. The Engineering Manager will report to the Director of Engineering and act as a key member of the Management Team, working collaboratively with Operations, Manufacturing, Procurement, Sales, Marketing and Finance.

POSITION OBJECTIVE:
We are seeking an accomplished engineer to help lead and coordinate activities of the Engineering Department within the Commercial and Government markets. This person will lead and supervise project engineering, process engineering, estimating, product drawing and new product development. She/he will confer with management and production staff to determine engineering feasibility and cost efficiencies in order to lead performance excellence and continued growth.

Laminator (Oceanside, CA)

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Under the direction of the Mold Shop Supervisor or Director of Manufacturing, the individual shall:

  • Apply lacquers and waxes to mold surfaces to facilitate assembly and removal of laminated parts.
  • Laminate layers of fiberglass on molds to form boat decks and hulls.
  • Bond wood reinforcing strips to decks and cabin structures
  • Inspect, clean, and assemble molds before beginning work.
  • Mast off mold areas which are not to be laminated, using wax paper, masking tape, or special sprays containing mold-release substances.
  • Apply layers of plastic resin to mold surfaces prior to placement of fiberglass mats, repeating layers until products have the desired thickness and plastics have jelled..
  • Apply lacquers and waxes to mold surfaces to facilitate assembly and removal of laminated parts.
  • Mix catalysts into resins, and saturate cloth and mats with mixtures, using brushes  squeegees and rollers.
  • Place or press layers of saturated mat or cloth into place on molds, using brushes or hands, and smooth out wrinkles and air bubbles with hands or squeegees.
  • Repair or modify damaged or defective glass-fiber parts, checking thicknesses, densities, and contours to ensure a close fit after repair.
  • Select precut fiberglass mats, cloth, and core materials as required by projects being assembled.
  • Spray  resins, and catalysts onto prepared molds or dies using pneumatic spray guns with chopper attachments.
  • Pat or press layers of saturated mat or cloth into place on molds,using brushes or hands, and smooth out wrinkles and air bubbles with hands or squeegees.
  • Trim cured materials by sawing them with diamond-impregnated cutoff wheels, grinder, zol saw, sabor saw.
  • Trim excess materials from molds, using hand shears or trimming knives.
  • Must be available to work overtime as needed.       

 OTHER PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (face masks, goggles, etc.).

Assembler (Oceanside, CA)

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Under the direction fo the Assembly Supervisor or Director of Manufacturing, the individual shall:

  • Follow established safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean environment.
  • Construct, erect, install, and repair structures and fixtures of wood, plywood, and fiberglass, using hand tools and power tools.
  • Measure and mark cutting lines on materials, using ruler, pencil, chalk, and marking gauge.
  • Shape or cut materials to specified measurements, using hand tools, machines, or power saw.
  • Assemble and fasten hull to deck, using hand tools and fasteners.
  • Build or repair doors,  floors, and other  fixtures used in building boats, using  hand tools, and power tools.  Install doors, hatches, brackets, and benches.
  • Install Lifting fittings.
  • Operate machinery used in the production process, or assist machine operators.
  • Lift raw materials, finished products, and packed items manually or using hoists.
  • Separate products according to weight, grade, size, and composition of materials used to produce them.
  • Transfer finished products, raw materials, tools, or equipment between storage and work areas of plants and warehouses, by hand or using hand trucks or powered lift trucks.
  • Lay-out and drill, cut parts for assembly.
  • Must be available to work overtime as needed.

Quality Control Inspector (Oceanside, CA)

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Under the direction of the Director of Manufacturing, the individual will:

  • Develop, maintain, and enforce the following programs:
    • Company's Safety and Environmental Program
    • DWP's
    • Annual Storm Water Sampling Programs
    • Hazardous Waste Program
    • Other programs as instructed by management
  • Formulate sampling procedures and develop forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data.  Direct production in measurement, inspection and testing activities to ensure quality control and reliability.
  • Record, or, oversee recording of information to ensure accuracy of engineering drawings and documentation for production problems.  This includes weighing and measuring materials, equipment, products, maintaining relevant records using pertinent inspection tools for accurate doumnetation.
  • Develops test procedures per each contract specification requirements.
  • Analyze test data and make computations as necessary to dertermine test results.
