Skills Summary
Under the direction of the Lead Mechanic, Shop Supervisor or Vice President, Manufacturing, individual:
• Use hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, pressure gauges, as well as power tools such as pneumatic wrenches, lathes, welding equipment, jacks and hoists.
• Raise heavy parts or equipment using hydraulic jacks or hoists.
• Perform preventative maintenance tasks such as lubricating and cleaning parts.
• Perform related duties as required.
• Working knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics.
• Basic mathematical skills, such as adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing.
Primary Responsibilities
• Be able to install steering system, water jets, engines, fuel systems, raw water system, controls, deck and hardware.
• Dismantle machines and subassemblies to gain access to and repair or replace defective parts.
• Inspect, repair, and maintain mechanical equipment and machinery such as pumps and compressors.
• Diagnose, adjust, repair, or overhaul all types of diesel engines.
• Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, blueprints, and procedure manuals.
• Inspect and verify dimensions and clearances of parts to ensure conformance to factory
specifications.
• Must be available to work overtime as needed.
• Perform emergency repairs.
