Job Opportunity: Electrician II

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Under the direction of the Lead Electrician, Shop Supervisor or Vice President, Manufacturing, individual:

  • Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment and fixtures, using had tools and power tools.
  • Inspect and test wiring installations, assemblies, and circuits for resistance factors and for
  • Assemble electrical or electronic systems and support structures; and install components,
  • Read and interpret schematic drawings, diagrams, blueprints, specifications.
  • Install and maintain electrical distribution including conduits, cables, wires, and related equipment such as circuit breakers, and switches.
  • Identify defective circuit breakers, voltage regulators, switches, relays, or wiring, using wiring diagrams and electrical-testing instruments.
  • Cut openings and drill holes for fixtures and equipment, using electric drills and routers.
  • Install equipment and accessories such as navigation equipment, communication equipment, and security systems.
  • Replace and clean electrical or electronic component.
  • Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.
  • Prepare sketches or follow blueprints to determine the location of wiring and equipment and to ensure conformance.
  • Diagnose malfunctioning systems, and components using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problems.
  • Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
  • Run electrical cables.
  • Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system.
  • Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures, based on job specifications.
  • Install ground leads and connect power cables to equipment, such as motors.
  • Repair or replace wiring, equipment and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools.
  • Fasten plastic boxes to bulkheads to boat electrical switches or outlets.
  • Inspect and test wiring installations, assemblies, and circuits for resistance factors and for
  • Assemble electrical or electronic systems and support structures; and install components, units, subassemblies and wiring, bolts, and soldering equipment.
  • Must be available to work overtime as needed.

OTHER PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (safety glasses, masks, goggles, etc.).
